This was my painting from when we had to choose a spot within or around the classroom. I chose to be in front of the sink because I thought it would be a cool composition. I did the sink in blue because I wanted to add to the sort of damp atmosphere that surrounds the sink. My painter I'm following this week is Frederic Edwin Church and he was one of the members of the Hudson River School. His piece "The Iceberg" is overwhelming in a good way. The use of scale and color immediately caught my interest.

Final Project: My space was the plant and the window and my object from three perspectives was the cup. I really liked the colors I used, I did a monochromatic color scheme of red. The process was not too complicated, I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I just made the shame o the branches with pretty messy brush stroked then placed color in the back for the underpainting. The painter I'm following this week is a member of the Hudson River School named Albert Biersdat. His piece "Emigrants Crossing Th Plains" is special because the warm colors of the sky gives the piece a serene feeling and it's very well done.
